A Life in Real Estate
Ariel Chazanas has been immersed in real estate his entire life. Born into a family of property developers and managers, he was exposed to every facet of the multifamily investment and development business starting at the age of six — accompanying his father on property visits and observing firsthand how tenant relations, construction, and brokerage truly work. As he grew older, he became increasingly involved in the business, building the practical, ground-level expertise that defines his approach today.
In his late twenties, Ari founded Lotus West Properties, beginning with just 20 units. Collaborating with real estate investors on the evaluation, acquisition, and syndication of multi-residential apartment buildings, the company's management portfolio steadily grew. Today, Lotus West manages over 1,100 units across nearly 100 buildings throughout greater Los Angeles, employs a team of 10 full-time professionals, and has expanded into third-party management. Ari remains deeply involved in day-to-day operations and maintains ownership stakes in several of the properties the firm manages.
Career Highlights
Founded the firm with 20 units and grew it into a trusted manager of 1,100+ multifamily units across LA, with a hands-on team and an expanding third-party management practice.
In the early 2000s, identified and acquired apartment buildings with condominium tract maps across Brentwood, Long Beach, Santa Monica, and Santa Clarita — fully renovating and selling 95 units as individual condominiums. Also profitably renovated single-family and duplex projects in Inglewood and Los Angeles.
Co-founded Haven, a co-living investment group, in 2019. The team developed a 96-bed health & wellness-focused co-living community in Venice, followed by an 86-bed property in 2020.
Beyond the Business
A devoted family man, Ari is happily married with three young children. His deep LA roots and UCLA education give him an intimate understanding of the local market — and a genuine commitment to the community he serves. He continues to give back through his board membership with the Apartment Association of Greater Los Angeles.
